The 1125R combines an American chassis and Austrian engine to deliver the most powerful Buell production bike ever. Buell teamed up with award-winning Austrian engine supplier Rotax (BRP) to create the ‘helicon’ powertrain, Buell’s first liquid cooled engine, which supplies a claimed 146bhp. In conjunction with BRP, Buell developed the 72-degree V-twin engine to deliver smooth power and offer increased torque. It is complemented by the all new six speed gearbox and excellent power-to-weight ratio from a claimed dry weight of 179kg. In keeping with the Buell brand’s Trilogy of Technology, the frame is designed with chassis rigidity in mind to ensure the 1125R stays firmly in line when flicking through corners. It is the first production Buell to feature a rigidly mounted engine platform, which also aids overall chassis rigidity. It also carries fuel in the frame, for mass centralisation, to allow increased agility and stable handling. The 1125R’s fully adjustable suspension is combined with an all new (ZTL2) Zero Torsional Load front brake featuring a rim mounted disc with unique eight-pot calliper and the latest specification Pirelli tyres. Together, these components create an unsprung weight that inspires rider confidence with excellent levels of grip and traction. Buell is renowned for being innovative and the 1125R is no different. This motorcycle is about enjoying all-round performance and is just the job for sports bike owners who are after something more individual.
